Established 3 March 1877 is another United States Army Installation named as Fort Huachuca, famously referred to as Camp Huachuca. Currently, the camp is now under the control of United States Army Installation Management Command. In Cochise County, Arizona, it is located at about 24km due north of Mexican border and the end of Huachuca Mountains, not far from Sierra Vista. From 1913-1933, the camp was used as the base for the 10th Calvary Regiment and Buffalo Soldiers. The camp had quarters that housed more than 25,000 male soldiers and hundreds of Women’s Army Corps (WACs). In 2010, Fort Huachuca had about 6,500 active duty soldiers population estimates, 7,400 and 5,000 military family members and civilian employees respectively. During the peak working hours (0700 and 1600 on weekdays) 18,000 people are usually on duty, making Fort Huachuca one of the busiest Army installations in the US.
