Hurlburt Field is an Air Force installation located in Okaloosa County, Florida, on the Gulf of Mexico. The field which covers about 6,700 acres, has over 8,000 military personnel working in it. It is home to the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), the 1st Special Operations Wing, the USAF Special Operations School (USAFSOS) and the Air Combat Command’s (ACC) 505th Command and Control Wing.
It is located in an area which is a hub of tourist activities, with its white beaches and green waters, and the field is part of the larger Englin AFB reservation.
